- What is National Shoe Day?
It’s a celebration every July 6 where we Americans literally stand, walk, run & dance for the Humane Treatment of Human Being. To celebrate the magnificence of what it is to just to be us.
National Shoe Day combines charitable giving and social responsibility with shoe shopping. It uses these elements to demonstrate a fun and easy way to participate in a powerful cause.
- Why National Shoe Day?
National Shoe Day is project of the Jennie Marie Thomas Foundation, creating programs and projects to empower people to ask for and receive Win-Win results in their relationships with government, church and business. Celebrating the Humane Treatment of Human Being is a fundamental value in the Win-Win for Humanity.

Shoes & Stripes Forever!
Starting this project has had its challenges and at times, never knowing how it is going to be “real”. Yet I am very grateful, as I have met some of the most inspiring people in Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Washington D.C., Augusta, Los Animas, San Diego, Charlotte, Greensboro and other cities as we spoke of our shared vision(s) for Humanity.
At the end of the day, its not about Jennie Marie Thomas Foundation – that’s just a legal entity on paper, it’s not about National Shoe Day, that’s just a project, it’s not about Shoes & Stripes Forever! that’s just an event, and it’s not even about the Humane Treatment of Human Being, that’s just a conversation.
Everyday I receive emails from people sharing about what is important to them and their community while making an impact in the lives of others.
See the pictures from the November 6, 2009 Shoes & Stripes Forever! fundraising event on Facebook.

Dance for Humanity - Atlanta/MLK, Janaury 17, 2010 and ongoing
International Dance for Humanity, beginning in Miami – November 2010 and 8 other international cities through August 2011.
